CLB 005: TRIALS & TRIBULATIONS SEARCHING FOR PURPOSE

From the age of 17 years old I was determined to discover my purpose.  I knew I wanted to help people and contribute to the world to the best of my ability.  I had my Year 12 Society & Culture teacher to thank for that when he taught us about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and the concept of self-actualisation.

It took me 10 years and a whole other career before I was able to find my purpose.  But find it I did!

Now I am sharing some of the key lessons I learned throughout my 10 year search for purpose as well as some fabulous resources to get you started.

IN THIS EPISODE, FIND OUT ABOUT:

  • My journey from high school in Sydney, Australia to discovering purpose in London

  • The danger of being motivated by proving yourself

  • Why, looking at just what you are good at, is not the best indicator

  • Self limiting beliefs and how you notice them

  • My addiction to work, external validation and being useful

  • The cost of unfulfillment

  • Being aware of the messages we are receiving and choosing what we believe

  • Victim mode vs empowered

  • Curiosity and passion

  • How to discover creativity
